Taiwan Native dogs have a financially sound future

As soon as the year of Rooster is behind everyone, the new Year of the Dog brings in a breeze of fresh air. Many commemorate coins both local and foreign are made available.

Among them, the dog-themed commemorate coins produced by private mints are competing to become the top dog of the year. In recent years, awareness towards indigenous culture is becoming more apparent.

Plus the increased call for animal protection and preservation, prices of Taiwan Native Dogs have become higher and higher. This year, many commemorate coins for Year of the Dog use Pekingese, Tibetan Mastiff, or dogs in ancient Chinese paintings as their motifs.

But this private mint, dedicated to showing the indigenous culture, uses the Taiwan Native Dog. Ms. Huang Li Jeng who is in charge says that these coins, both gold and silver, will have a limited edition of 66 and 5000 pieces respectively.

Beside featuring the Taiwan Native Dog in the front, the back shows two people brewing tea in the mountain using mountain spring water. Both the flame and the dog bark should signify good fortune and prosperity. During this season to be jolly, everyone should get a bit of both.
